What are YDance conferences and events?

YDance has 30 years of experience delivering exceptional dance opportunities in a range of youth, education, and community settings across Scotland, the UK, and abroad. The company is seen as a leader in the field of dance for children and young people and has been recognised twice in the One Dance UK awards for Inspirational Work in Education (2018) and Research in Dance (2021).

YDance has developed a rich methodology that informs all the work to ensure that young people can learn through and about dance and that involvement makes an impact on their lives. All projects are analysed and evaluated to ensure the highest quality and ambition. We aim to share learning around project creation, development, and delivery to ensure the youth dance community can grow as a sector and other sectors can learn about the benefits of dance. We are dedicated to the dissemination of learning and ensuring the highest quality by learning from our counterparts across the UK and globe.

YDance's work has been presented at conferences and events in Scotland and internationally. Recent presentations have been made at ITAC6 (International Teaching Artist Conference) in Norway in 2022 and ITAC 5 2021 (online), Scottish Ballet’s Moving Minds Conference 2022, SSASEA (Sub-Saharan African Society for Education) 2021 (online), and the National Dance Education Organisation Conference 2021 (Online).
