FREE Summer Dance Opportunities

The summer holidays are fast approaching and what better way to spend them than dancing! We have a number summer dance opportunities available for you to take part in, and the best bit is they are completely FREE!

 

Take the Lead Award in Dance Leadership Level 1 – North Ayrshire

If you live in North Ayrshire, are aged 12+ and in S2, you can sign up to take part in our FREE Award in Dance Leadership Level 1 course.

If you love dance, working with others and getting the chance to put your skills to the test, spend 5 days in fun dance leadership classes in a variety of styles with lots of games and tasks to help you get creative! This is a fun and practical qualification with no entrance requirements where you’ll learn and develop organisation, planning, communication and teamwork skills through dance.

Attend all 5 days and you’ll earn 5 credits at SCQF Level 4.

The course takes place at 10am – 4pm everyday from Monday 9th to Friday 13th July at St Matthew’s Academy, Saltcoats. Spaces are limited so book your place today. Deadline for booking is 5pm on Wednesday 4th July.

Take the Lead Discover/Bronze Arts Award – North Ayrshire

If you’re aged 10 – 25 and live in North Ayrshire, you can sign up to take part in our FREE Discover/Bronze Arts Award course this summer!

Do you love dance and the Arts? Would you like to develop your dance skills and learn about other art forms whilst getting fit and active?

Spend 5 days taking part in fun dance sessions in a variety of styles, games and workshops looking at different art forms, and have the opportunity to create your own arts portfolio documenting what you have experienced, researched and created. Attend all 5 days and you’ll earn either a Discover Arts Award or a Bronze Arts Award accredited by Trinity College, London.

The course takes place at 10am – 4pm everyday from Monday 16th to Friday 20th July at St Matthew’s Academy, Saltcoats. Spaces are limited so book your place today. Deadline for booking is 5pm on Wednesday 11th July.

Generation Dance Festival – Reflections intergenerational performance opportunity – Glasgow

If you’re aged 14 – 21 or over 60, love to dance and would you like to perform we’d love for you to join our Reflections intergenerational dance company from Wednesday 25th July – Friday 3rd August in Glasgow.

As a group you will work with a professional dance artist to create a dance piece to perform as part of a larger piece of work in the Generation Dance Festival at Tramway, Glasgow on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd August.

This is a great opportunity for grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews to come together to dance and perform.

Momentum Discover/Bronze Arts Award – North Lanarkshire

If you’re aged 9 – 16 and live in North Lanarkshire, you can sign up to take part in our FREE Discover/Bronze Arts Award course this summer!

Do you love dance and the Arts? Would you like to develop your dance skills and learn about other art forms whilst getting fit and active?
