Choreographers Wanted

We are looking for 8 inspiring Choreographers for the YDance Routes Connections Weekend from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 October 2016 at The Granton Campus of Edinburgh College. They will be working with young dancers aged 12 to 21 years who come from a variety of dance backgrounds and experiences.

We require Choreographers who can give an insight into how they choreograph and lead a group through their choreographic process building towards an informal sharing of work at the end of the weekend. Choreographers will have around 8 hours to develop this with their group.

Each Choreographer will be expected to:

  • Attend from Friday (2pm) through to Sunday (4pm)
  • Work with a group of approximately 30 young people to create a new piece of work that will be performed at an informal sharing on the Sunday (there will be 3 allocated sessions throughout the weekend to develop this.)
  • Deliver taster sessions to other groups involved the weekend

We are looking for Choreographers to inspire, challenge, motivate and help develop the dancers and choreographers of the future!
