ABCD (AnyBodyCanDance) is a CD-ROM multimedia application which lets users create their own dance workshops using interactive material, and save and print customised lesson plans, class handouts and teachers packs.
ABCD is designed to help teachers and leaders use dance through the different applications included in the CD Rom, and allows them to create and save dance combinations, new music, class / workshop plans and choreography.
- The CD-ROM includes: an Advice Bank with practical advice on teaching dance, movement games, workshop ideas and warm-up exercises using 3-D animation, Video footage and photos to inspire creativity, professional choreographers case studies, a dance combination builder for users to choreograph simple sequences onscreen, a copyright-free music maker tool and a Dance Planner as well as information on YDance, direct e-mail and links.
- All exercises, workshop ideas and games are printable.
- YDance provides FREE downloads of new material for the CD-ROM on the web at www.ydance.org
In-service training sessions are designed to familiarise participants with the ABCD CD-Rom and give them a chance to try out some of the exercises, workshops and games with the support of a YDance tutor.
Half-day / twilight (2 hour) sessions provide an overview of the CD-ROM content in a lecture-demonstration format, and a short practical dance session based on ideas included in the resource.
Full day and two-day trainings provide hands-on experience in using the ABCD CD-ROM on the computer, and practical dance sessions. Longer trainings also provide opportunities for participants to obtain advice and assistance on specific topics. |
