Here are answers to the most asked questions about Project Y, but if you have any others get in touch and we'll do our best to help.

 
 

How do I apply for Project Y 2011?

You can apply now for Project Y 2011 - all you need to do is fill out an application form and send it and a passport photograph to us.

We will acknowledge your application though deadline will not be until the start of 2011 when we will invite applicants to a number of different auditions. We will therefore keep your details on file and get in touch when the details for these have been confirmed - probably at the start of 2011.

 
 
 

How old do I need to be to take part in Project Y?

Project Y is open to dancers aged 16 – 21 by the start of July 2011.

 
 
 

How much does it cost to do Project Y?

The course fees are likely to be £400 (£100 per week), but you may also have to think about accommodation and travel costs depending on where you live.

Accommodation

If you live outside Glasgow we strongly advise that you book accommodation close to the rehearsal venue. We can provide you with a list of recommended low cost Glasgow accommodation options if you are selected.

Travel

If you are not staying within walking distance of the rehearsal venue you will need to arrange your own travel.

 
 
 

Is there funding available?

Creative Scotland provided funds to help participants attend take part in Project Y 2010. There is no guarantee that this will be the case for 2011, but there are a number of other funding sources that we can help you apply to.

What type of dance is involved and what experience do I need?

Project Y is primarily a contemporary dance company, but the performances often combine a number of different styles including street dance, ballet and breaking!

A strong grounding in a dance technique will help you, but is not essential. We believe in raw talent and are always looking for people with an enthusiasm for dance. We are no longer acceptinig applications for Project Y 2009, but will begin recruiting for 2010 from October 2009.
